I'm tired of the gestapo getting a bad rap. What did they do that was so bad? We know 90% of WWII history is a bald faced lie, so was the gestapo actually just another normal police force doing what police do, or was it super-evil like we are being ordered to believe?

The Gestapo was the "secret state police" which means repression of particular crimes, counter espionage and repression of political dissenters; the Gestapo agents didn't wear an uniform and were only plain clothes.A normal police force was the Ordnungpolizei, which did normal public security duty and its agents wore an uniform.
