They imagine themselves finding a bunch of oil and minerals there and taxing the shit out of it while companies from other countries do all the work for them. They don't have any capacity to defend it or develop it themselves; but they figure they have the title so they should drink the milkshake.The native Greenlanders probably have similar ideas for pursuing independence. Foreign companies come in, you tax them and you contribute nothing. Its actually their land though so they've got more claim to it than Denmark does. Trump should work out a deal with the Greenlanders where they get a cut of all the profits. Those 60,000 people could all get rich and at that point I doubt they'd care that much about having sovereignty over their ice cube.
