I live in Chicago, in one of the last mostly white neighborhoods that is slowly changing. Legal Mexicans and Hispanics are generally good hard working Catholics with strong families that take pride in their homes and parishes. Besides some of the young punk kids and scumbags that come with any group I’d take them every single day of the week over blacks. They’re slowly moving in here now with section 8 rentals and they genuinely just diminish the entire feeling of safety I had growing up here, with their lurking and slow walking, hanging around on corners and at local gas stations. I drive to and from work downtown so I don’t have to risk my life on the CTA but I constantly have to be aware of my surroundings even on the expressways because at any time you can come across one of these motherless feral dogs. Carrying a pistol is essential, even where it isn’t allowed as long as there aren’t metal detectors. I’d rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 if I find myself in a self defense situation.

The biggest societal differences are service quality, crime/trust, and cleanliness.Service quality: if more than half of a restaurants/stores employees are black GENERALLY the service is VERY bad. Unclean, getting orders wrong, lack of ownership, and generally ruder compared to white and Asian cultures. There are McDonalds in a South Louisiana city I once lived in that are caked in grime and the typical order for a family of 4 takes 20 minutes to deliver. Crime/trust: in black cities I’ve lived, even in upper middle class neighborhoods, bikes not secured at night will be stolen. Go to the hood and see hundreds of grown men riding around on BMX bikes built for 12 year olds. In the white cities I lived in - leave that bike wherever you want. It’s safe. NOTE - I did not live in a west coast shithole with a high white/druggie street population. I assume those whites would steal bikes too. I lived in salt of the earth upper Midwest middle class towns. Insane degrees of social trust. Leave your car unlocked and wallet on the dashboard and 99.99999% of the time, it’s a safe move.Cleanliness: this really gets back to a sense of ownership and personal responsibility beyond the self. I suspect it exists in some pockets of black culture globally - but it generally does not exist in deep southern USA.
