i live in new orleans and there is a very weird tiny little museum about the federal reserve. it is only a single room with half a dozen displays. most of the displays are broken. there is a corner where you are supposed to be able to stand in front of a screen and see your face superimposed on a dollar bill, but it is broken. it is quite trashy inside. there is a single security guard sitting at a desk. the entrance has some kind of metal detector or something. there is a lot of pomp and circumstance getting into the front door, some kind of machine scanner in the doorway. i thought it was very odd to have so much security for essentially an empty room. something seemed very off, like these people know they are deeply guilty and are very afraid of an attack on their little nearly empty room filled with broken trash.
