People from countries with undrinkable tap water should not be allowed to move to countries with drinkable tap water.

They're putting freaking chemicals in the water than a turning the freaking frogs gay!!

if that was the rule then you'd just have NGOs and government program to install approved water systems across all of africa the middleast, india, pakistan etc.

You're underestimating the amount of investment and maintenance that would need. You would basically have to elevate these places to first world countries, and, well, good luck with that.

there would be deliberately low standards to meet. putting some pipes in so that a small area in the center of the top 5 largest cities sometimes have drinkable water would cost very little. do keep in mind that outside of larger towns and cities, a great deal of canada and the US are on private wells that are never counted in official stats. i h ave a neighbor who doesn't drink his own spring water, for example, because he hasn't got around to installing UV and other filters etc.

nobody is checking.

Set requirements to a Western standard. So all cities and population centres with more than, say, 100 people living there, must have potable water on tap for all permanent dwellings within them.

I can drink tap water in my country just fine

>>
>>526315767
Are you saying you can't drink tap water in all these other countries? Wtf do they drink then?
>>
>>526316531
in some places everyone does drink it but it might not be up to international standards. if you go there from the west, you might experience some stomach aches etc as you get used to it. i had that a few times traveling across Greece, Turkey, Georgia etc, and in the end i just resorted to bottled water to ensure no problems with worse illness. a lot of people ive known traveled farther east often ended up with persistent intestinal problems that meant they had to stay in hotels for extended periods or even abandon their trips and go home, though obviously you can get that from food too.

That's horrible. Why don't these countries fix their tapwater then? I understand that some African countries might not be able to afford it, but I'm sure that Thailand, Vietnam, and Georgia can afford it.

i seem to remember drinking the water in Thailand. like i said, just because its not on the chart doesn't mean that people there aren't drinking their mains water, if they have it. take China for instance - i've been right across the place twice and hardly ever bought any water. why? because the chinks boil pretty much every drop of water they drink, and people will just give you boiled water straight from their 5 massive thermos bottles. every hotel has an electric kettle, and so on.

most of the time you might notice a change in your shits for a few days to a week when changing the water from country to country if you decide to drink it. obviously not every single tap is to be trusted either. you get a sense for whats alright or not.

Do people still drink tap water unfiltered?
>>
>>526319759
not every place has water you need to filter.
>>
>>526318356
I see.

That sucks. We have some radioactivity worries about our groundwater here because the aquifers have too much radium in them, but the risk is said to be minimal (less than basements in some countries).
