What was early MAGA like? I was only 9 years old in 2016 and I don't remember.

Memes, the board was very fast. Digits meant everything, praise kek. And then it slowly dawned on the board that Trump is nothing other than a lying cunt subservient to Israel. Gradually the board slowed, and now you have /ptg/, a shitty general populated by 10 retards. A remnant of the past.
>>
Why? We all know now that MAGA was a fucking scam from the fraudster Trump himself.

Same Jews different lies

A lot less cynical. There wasn’t as much infighting as there is now. We we're so naive…

Hopeful. I say this as an American that moved to Spain and was there for 2015-2016 era /pol/
Felt like underdogs because people saw trump as a joke in the republican primaries, then as a joke in the elections and that Hillary was a guarantee. I remember thinking he was going to lose and I voted for him as a joke.
Then I saw how he governed in his first term and that's when I lost hope. I started reading populist legislation that genuinely favors workers, worker rights, and how capitalists operate within the US political system. Once I saw Bernie get fucked over by the dems in 2020 in favor of Joe Biden I lost hope and started the plan to move to Europe.
The United States is a shithole and I now look at Americans bitching about their shit wages, their shit healthcare system, their car dependent lifestyle and am like "you barely found out?"

Oldfag here, MAGA took over this board overnight. You have to understand that 2015 was peak current year and Gamergate just ended before Trump ran for office. Anons hated what was happening to the internet and the country and feared that a Clinton presidency would be an sjw adminstration. All oppostion (aside from Benrie who was just peak reddit) was useless cuckservatives or lolberts who had no chance of getting any power. Trump was a wild card and did not give fuck which attracted a lot of anons. Many jumped ship to support him including many lolberts who were a large plurality of this board at the time and part of the reason why lolberts started fizzling out of this board and online culture in general. Also you have to keep in mind that 4chan 10 years ago was still seen as this niche internet subculture that no one but antisocial outcasts dared to browse. I think that played a big factor in the MAGA craze on this site. Of course it was that MAGA craze that pushed 4chan into the limelight and leaked into the public. It's why to this day you still hear anons compalining that "election tourists" ruined this website since 4chan lost the underground appeal that it once had.
In hindsight we were all high on our fumes and thought Trump was going to change world and fix the country for the better only for him to become the exact thing that he campainged against. A lot of us knew that Trump was sympathetic to israel even before the 2016 election but that didn't stop anons calling you a shill if you dared critisized the don while other naively thought that his stance on Israsel wouldn't have influced his stances on foreign policy since Trump at the that time emulated an noninterventlaist stance. But many here firgured him out the moment he drone striked Syria back in 2017. So the board gradually stopped supporting Trump to the point where only frequents in /ptg/ remained. And even then, /ptg/ isn't even as strong as it once was.

People thought his screw ups were just deliberate acts of a "4D chess" strategy to confuse and outsmart his adversaries. Then after a while it became clear that there was no 4D chess.
