If you go through life always trying to make rational decisions you are just a poor excuse for a bot. Being human means embracing chaos and irrationality. Niggerbros will understand this.

Being human means learning to make your rational and subrational mind work together to optimize your experience of life. You plan ahead and train yourself with intention with your rational mind so that when the unexpected occurs and you automatically respond intuitively and instinctually, these responses have already been optimally trained for you to be successful in your actions once the subrational brain takes over. Athletes call it muscle memory, but it's applicable to just about any endeavor in life. You can't be too proud and pretend like your rationality and intelligence will get you through everything on its own because it won't, you're an animal and you will default to either training or instinct under pressure, which isn't always good, and you rely on your rational brain to deduce when your instincts and intuitions are not sufficient to solve the problem and then rehearse accordingly with the rational course of action that you won't have time to think of later when you need it.
