Only the aristocratic, very highly rich people matter. Only these people of such stature have lives that matter. The needy and misfortunate people have lives that don't matter, their lives mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. It's a good thing when the poor are taken advantage of and keep getting more miserable and hurting. It makes the aristocratic people have something to enjoy watching them crawl in the mud while we kick them in their face. Since the rich are important and the poor aren't, it doesn't matter how many casualties of the poor happen as long as the important people stay ahead.
