Much of Europe unironically sabotaged its own energy infrastructure and its military. The US has also done this to some degree but not even close to the same extent. Both the US and Europe also of course have massive internal cohesion problems, both ethnically and politically, but these problems will be a much greater issue for the side that also has a broken military.
