Hypothetically, if china or Russia decides to assume control of Greenland; Denmark can't do a fucking thing about it. So instead of fighting on their own, they're just gonna piss their pants and press the article 5 button. And we all fucking know what that means. It's not gonna be poland or Sweden or Slovenia or Germany, or any fucking irrelevant European shithole that is gonna respond to the attack. No. It's gonna be America. It's always gonna be america. And it is literally expected of them by all the NATO countries to do the vast majority of the work to repell the foreign attack. Now tell me with a straight face why the FUCK would providing FREE security for Greenland be in the US best interest? They could do it, they could legally put up all their airbases and military installations and everyone would not bat an eye at that. But you're forgetting that doing all that shit costs money. Aside from the US, no other NATO country is forking up the bill. And don't give me that "muh percentage of GDP" bullshit. It doesn't fucking matter. Only the volumetric gross total counts. So now the US would prefer to just have a return on their investment by acquiring Greenland, and would pay handsomely for it to take over security of Greenland and the surrounding arctic region in perpetuity. NATO was created under that faggy assumption that Europe wouldn't have to lift a finger and that uncle Sam would come to the rescue. You can argue that it was stupid for Europeans not having seen the writing on the wall for more than 10 years (even Obama 2 pushed them), but the US is also faulting on his words by saying one thing and later doing another.

China would simply sell them infrastructure projects or even give them infrastructure free so long as there were dual benefits in the long term for both Greenland & China. Russia would just sit and watch. It's Europe that gets most affected by the taking of Greenland.
