Trump's obsession with Greenland feels very performative and like an excuse for him to dismantle NATO and cut off EuropeFirst because there is already a large US military base and a few hundred soldiers there, there's no restrictions in case the US wants to build more bases, deploy more soldiers or send more of their military technology in Greenland. So that begs the question, why would you need to ''own'' Greenland when nobody is really stopping you from doing whatever the fuck you want there? And second, if you wanna own it then why should you publicly pressure and antagonize Europe in public? Why can't the negotiations be behind closed doors?
>>526347764Why can't it be for multiple reasons?Trump wants to cut off NatoTrump wants us to own greenland because it'll be an important trade route, will solidify us keeping our bases and being able to secure them, and will give us a huge rare earth supplyTrump publicly pressures them because it makes it easier to do both.
>>526347764I think it would help if he explained his case better to the people of Greenland. There is a lot of uncertainty and telling them you need it for national security reasons does little to comfort them because it sounds vague at best and like a page out of the book of colonialism they've likely learned to distrust at worst.

>>526348052Nobody gives a shit about some ice chinks. Put them in reservations like the ones in the US.
>>526347764Trump is absolutely incapable of creating something, his entire business is scaming, bailing israel and finding scapegoats.
