China will obviously be the biggest global potency in a few years so i wanna learn Mandarin.The thing is: how do i start?And how long does it take to be able to read it? Not speak, just read. Once i learned to read english it was easy to work out the rest. Hope its the same with chinese.My thread on /int/ got deleted so im posting it here.

It's incomprehensible at first, but it will make sense in three months, and in a year, reading normal text won't be much of an issue.
