Australia is FUCKED

Spent 12 weeks trying to get a rental. Applications and then even offering 2 months rent straight up after the usual bond and so forth paid out

My Indian neighbors have like 12 people living in a 4 bedroom house they bought recently

Streets are now full of cars because everyone has to rent out all their rooms just to make rent these days

The insane thing is there's almost no difference between house and apartment rental prices now. Supply is fucked no matter what you're looking for
>>
>>526370705
We had to have laws here that stopped the immigrant hordes from buying up all the homes so that New Zealanders could buy New Zealand homes. I bet they have taken that away and soon we will be like you again.

We had laws like that now they want me build grannyflats to rent.
10 years ago renting grannyflats was illegal.

https://www.planning.qld.gov.au/planning-issues-and-interests/changes-to-secondary-dwellings
>To provide people with more access to housing options, an amendment took effect on 26 September 2022 that removed restrictions on who can live in secondary dwellings across Queensland. The amendment enabled homeowners to rent out secondary dwellings, such as granny flats, to anyone.

This amendment also removed the restriction of how members of a household live together. This recognises the relationships of occupants in a dwelling and how they interact with one another should not be considered in a planning assessment of how land is used.

i could become a proper slumlord with 900 acres but i'd rather tell people to fuck off because we are full.

we have a giant country full of wonderous landscapes choosing to live in a city seem crazy i can drive drunk and leave my keys in the car, i don't lock my house ,i only see my neighbours when i want too.
half a mill will get you 3 bedrooms in a city but it will get you an estate house and some land in the countryside its starting to jump up now but you get my point its still cheaper.

>For the year ended June 2022, Treasury's forecast was 41,000; it turned out to be 203,590.
>For both 2022-23 and 2023-24, the forecast was 235,000; it turned out to be 535,520 and 445,640.
>For 2024-25, the forecast was originally 260,000, and it then increased halfway through the year to 340,000.
>Net permanent and long-term (NPLT) arrivals for the year to June totalled 457,560, although as the ABS has pointed out in a rare memo to the media, that's a different data set to net overseas migration (NOM). We're still waiting for 2024-25 figures.
>But it's usually about 10 per cent less than NPLT.
>So maybe about 400,000 NOM, although migration expert Abul Rizvi says other data suggests it will be 350,000 to 380,000.
>That means at least 800,000 more people came to live in Australia over the past four years than Treasury anticipated. That's more than three extra Hobarts.
>So, there are that many more cars on the road than expected, that many more people looking for health care, and hundreds of thousands more kids in schools than expected.

>likely to be beaten by 2026 as the highest year for immigration on record

Demand for housing vastly vastly outstrips demand because every single person and party in the Australian government is fully committed to a "big australia" and forever growing the population size.
As it just so happens almost every single politician also owns multiple homes, I think some had as many as 8-10, and growing the population has seen house prices explode.

The government will NEVER do anything to reduce immigration or lower housing prices because this would directly hurt them financially.

Worst mistake of my life. Should have bought. Now I cant afford it.
And my mate ended up buying a place with his missus in 2022 and moving out anyway so I was forced to move again and by then couldnt afford something on my own.

Those same townhouses are now worth 650-700k

Something will give, anon. Whether the aftermath is an improvement, I don't know. But this state of affairs is already showing cracks. At the very least the overton window has made disagreement much higher than it was 5 years ago where questioning immigration whatsoever was immediate social death.

Id put a young tradesman there with cheap rent on a 5 year rental deal but for the jewish laws, and the the fear of these laws to allow the ability of the modern basedcuck to try and rob an honest christian of his property.

And why would they? Left wing fuckwits want more of their Labour voting brown pets and want to stop the 'urban sprawl' so they hold up land development. The more Labour makes housing worse, the more votes they get. Never mind Labour net 0 causing electricity prices to skyrocket.

> Indians are willing to live uncomfortably to get ahead faster (and most Asians for that matter)
The REAL reason you have inspections every months is so that they can make sure you aren't breaking the rental system by living with 4 families in a house. You don't actually need all that room. You need somewhere to sleep. Somewhere to cook. Somewhere to wash. And you can apparently just shit outside. Who'd have stunk it right?

Here's how it works. Entire families, and sometimes multiple living an a house. Grandparents are retired, so they do all the cooking and looking after kids, so the adults can all just work. They pool money, buy a house, and they're out of renting in like a year after landing here. Then they buy another house, and another, and another. Within a decade, they all have a house, and a number of rentals. They don't pay for school, because they train their kids to smash tests and get into all best free public schools. They get scholarships to university, and come out of that with a high paid job and no student debt. They're all doing it, because it makes sense. And they're all looking at you like stupid barbarians because you just send your kids to the closest indoctrination camp and don't give a shit if they're failing. That you can't go without Netflix, smoking and drinking like a fucken child.

The strategy works for everyone--and white people have a higher IQ on average, so just do that.

>but if you develop a health issue, you’ll be in debt for the rest of your life
Heart attack, rescue, and quadruple bypass in 2022 billed at just under 300K. My portion of that was so negligible that I didn't even notice paying anything. Good insurance plan while working for a global meatpacker with enough money to get the insurer to offer something half decent.

Serious car accident resulted in rescue, air transport, abdominal surgery, multiple days in the ICU in summer 2025. Just the ER visit on that billed 23K. I didn't even look at the ICU billing. My share is $2300 of the ER bill because I'm with a smaller company now and the insurance isn't as good.

Point is the "in debt forever" meme isn't necessarily true.

Rent, daycare, elderly care, and never eating out--because dinner is always waiting when you get home.

Feminism was peak capitalism. Convince women that their live was actually shit. Make them work as hard as men had too, and convince them that raising children isn't fulfilling--getting ahead in a corporation is. Articles proudly talking about almost half of women never going to have children. Government doesn't give a shit, they'll just import third-world people to take all the low skills jobs, keep wages down, and if women get too sad about it, assisted suicide--no questions asked. It's grim, but we all fell for it.
