Additionally, Denmark controlled Greenland for hundreds of years pre NATO and nobody invaded because nobody wants it. Then it controlled Greenland for decades post NATO and still nobody invaded (because nobody wants it) but also because it wouldn't work with NATO defending it. It could always be natural resources, but Denmark probably wouldn't oppose US mining of those resources.My theory is that the US is trying to weaken Europe as much as possible. War in the middle east helped with this a lot, because most of the migrants ended up in Europe, war in Ukraine obviously does the same thing. A weaker Europe would be more reliant on the US for defense, and maybe open up natural resources in the region to the US.
