The attempt to use edge cases to override evident and clear categories is just dumb. Also the left can't even agree with itself. The lefts argument is that sex linked traits are merely linked to physical attributes. The truth is that they are linked to mental attributes as well. Its why men tend to be better at spacial reasoning then women and why women tend to perform better in schooling environments. You can see these different manifest in career choice and just generalized outcomes. It also is a consequence of what hormones are being produced in the individuals body. These genetic and hormonal differences cause different behaviors to manifest. These behaviors then got noticed and classified as the gender roles as we understand them. Are some of these behaviors consequences of societal expectations? Sure, but I would argue the vast majority exist because of real differences. People don't normalize things that the average person isn't doing. Things get normalized because they are normal. People can buck these roles, but that doesn't mean the person is no longer their sex original and it doesn't mean that the roles aren't valid.
