Authoritarianism isn't a goal for him, it's just a consequence of trying to apply corporate top-down governing on a country. Trump is essentially a consequence of a lifetime knowing your reputation is everything. If you have a reputation as something, you can get financial backing to do it. So trump believe that if he can angle reality so it looks like he brokered a lot of peace, then he will get the peace prize. If he gets the peace prize, he can persuade Israel-Gaza conflict to settle down. If he can persuade onlookers that US ownership of Greenland is the best thing and that those disagreeing are evil, then he will get Greenland. Of course, politics doesn't really work the same way as the corporate world, but Trump thinks it does, and it's important to understand that when you interpret what he says.
