For them they are relying on artical 5, which is defacto the USA to protect greenland. If China or Russia wanted greenland they would have to rely on American protection. In addition to this, we are offering to pay for and then build adequate defensive infrastructure which helps secure out national security and prevents any sort of mishap with other global powers. Right now greenland is basically not defended at all except for the air force base we have on it. Euros are just pissing themselves because it shows how weak they are militarily that they cant defend this land and instead of making a gesture of good will and allowing us to purchase it and defend the artic region they are throwing a fit just like liberals in america.
