U.S. stock futures dropped late Monday after global equities sold off as President Donald Trump launches a trade war against NATO allies over his Greenland ambitions.

Maybe if you weren't a retarded Republican you would know this.

It won't happen though, that is why Trump is being painted as a comical villain. Every nation knows he is the fall guy to explain backroom deals to the masses. In 5 years, people will treat the annexation of Greenland and the dissolving of NATO exactly like how we treat the Covid pandemic now.

It will just be seen as an overstep by the administration at the time with no real consequences. Life will move on, you will continue to vote for either team red or team blue and watch the sportsball. The bread and circus has never been cheaper and more accessible. People look back fondly on covid, just as they will about the goofy trump memes. People will forget that it was all a show for the institutions in power to recalibrate the geopolical and economic order.

Trump needs to leave mortal wounds and crippling injuries. Changes that wont grow back and cant be fixed.
I have to remind myself that all of you people are fake and pretending trump's moves are more impactful than they really are, or ill get too hopeful.

Obviously a stock market crash will wipe pensions, but is that really a bad thing for most people?

Things are so overcooked right now that even elderly people with healthy pensions are having to continue working to insure they will be able to afford a comfortable retirement, and they never really catch up due to the rate of inflation. People are not retiring, and so the younger generation is not able to find productive employment where they can upskill. Assets are very out of reach of the younger generations. Most young people in the western world use their pension funds to buy a home (at least here and Australia, not sure about America). They often have no other savings as nothing offers the same return outside of speculative investments (unproductive gimmick) or tangible productive assets (out of reach for most). Assuming you live in a western country and purchased a house in your lifetime, I don't really see how you will be worse off. The basics for a healthy life will become more accessible to all generations, and your base pension will be worth more.

The only people who would actually suffer are people who are overleveraged into speculative investments, but these are really the only people actually gaining from the current economic situation. People who own productive assets will be fine regardless.

You think that in today's modern society the entire job market is just going to be non existent if the stock market crashes? Is that what you think? This barring some kind of major crisis of sorts like covid or 08 where it was caused not by a stock market crash but because of overleveraged individuals who couldn't pay back what they had taken. Please. Enlighten me. Because you're already wrong and already proving just how long you are that you're scared of a pin drop right now. Worse is coming.
>>
>>526449154
I should add that often these pensions are just invested in speculative investments anyway.
>>
>>526449193
The job market will change, but it won't be some doomed societal collapse. Many people will become unemployed and businesses/funds will fail. But new opportunities will also arise. Todays real estate agent will be tomorrows public servant as speculating on property becomes less profitable and public investment receives more funding.

Where people get hit are the ones who speculate based on todays income without considering that their situation might change. If you live within your means and have employment now, chances are you will be fine in a stock market crash. You may just need to pivot to a new industry.
>>
>>526449193
>You think that in today's modern society the entire job market is just going to be non existent if the stock market crashes?
It's virtually impossible for many people to get jobs now, it will only be worse when economic conditions worsen, this is basic common sense
> 08 where it was caused not by a stock market crash but because of overleveraged individuals who couldn't pay back what they had taken.
The housing industry crash caused the stock market to crash, why are you pretending these are two unrelated events? And read up on how easy it was to get a job after 2008, you fucking idiot, this is retarded

Base pension is part of the issue, at least here in Europe. Its the leading economic argument for our replacement (along with Universal healthcare costs). The primary issue of the base pension is thats its just a wealth redistribution tool from the worker to the dependent, as birth rates drops due to economic hardship and cultural degeneracy that wealth needs new pockets to grab from. The miscalculation and cognitive dissocance from our ruling elite is that every person isn't an equal blank slate that can be molded into the 'western values' productive white men so over time the dependants have only grown while the people paying for it keeps shrinking.
The entire financial system needs a hard reset and COVID really should've killed more of our elderly off.

> CNBC: Dow set to fall 300 points on Trumps new tariff threat over greenland

A 300 point swing is what we used to call "Tuesday". the 2008 mess was far more interesting. One of the more vivid memories:
> the sky is falling and everything is collapsing
> the congress can finally stop fighting long enough to pass something to try to help
> no one likes it, but any step in the right direction would be good
> but then...
> suddenly the votes disappear.
> there is no longer enough to pass it

On CNBC that day, you had the vote happening on 1/2 the screen, and a closeup of the DOW on the other. It dropped something like 1000 points in 3 minutes

Because the evidence is out there for you to review and be proven wrong. Arguing with shills like you is like arguing with a wall - the stock market is disconnected from the economy this is a fact, if it crashes - barring some systemic shock - the job market isn't going to get much worse than it is now it's not possible into today's modern society you stupid faggot. Just neck already for fucks sake your kind finally feeling some real pain is exactly what it takes to get you off your syncophantic ass and do something. Nigger.

>>526451300
>Because the evidence is out there for you to review and be proven wrong.
What evidence, retard? Evidence that companies lay people off after stocks crash? That's happened multiple times.
>the stock market is disconnected from the economy this is a fact
The stock market is a reflection of the overall economy you fucking idiot, if stocks crash it means companies are unable to pay off their debts, and that means they have to fire people.
> it's not possible into today's modern society
oh yeah todays "modern society" is so perfect and pure and not horrifically corrupt or anything. You're so mad you got exposed as a fucking retard that no one should take seriously, how about you read a book before you waste everyone's time with your uneducated bullshit next time

There's no gold in Fort Knox. It's all in the Federal Reserve. Even our global adversaries keep their gold here because it's the safest place on earth to store gold, because we're impossible to invade. That's also one of several reasons the US military is so well-funded.
