Obviously a stock market crash will wipe pensions, but is that really a bad thing for most people?Things are so overcooked right now that even elderly people with healthy pensions are having to continue working to insure they will be able to afford a comfortable retirement, and they never really catch up due to the rate of inflation. People are not retiring, and so the younger generation is not able to find productive employment where they can upskill. Assets are very out of reach of the younger generations. Most young people in the western world use their pension funds to buy a home (at least here and Australia, not sure about America). They often have no other savings as nothing offers the same return outside of speculative investments (unproductive gimmick) or tangible productive assets (out of reach for most). Assuming you live in a western country and purchased a house in your lifetime, I don't really see how you will be worse off. The basics for a healthy life will become more accessible to all generations, and your base pension will be worth more.The only people who would actually suffer are people who are overleveraged into speculative investments, but these are really the only people actually gaining from the current economic situation. People who own productive assets will be fine regardless.
