The origiinal is safe and sound. A fake was substituted and stolen, and then recovered. The museum was obviously in on the heist because otherwise they wouldn't have put a silly woman with zero security experience in charge of security for the whole museum.This is a common grift, there is a theft or sometimes a "fire" and a fake is substituted. These are usually inside jobs, as in this case of course.
