Because while you MAY have equal rights, you dont have equal access to representation. Be poor get some shit lawyer, go to jail. Be rich, get a team of the best, walk out free.

Also many judges seem like partisan cunts, and not the unbias professionals they should be.

Further more the State is corrupt in the way the prosecute people. They will stack on BS charges to try get you to plea. They will purposely introduce evidence that should be inadmissible to try screw you and hope the judge allows it.
