I always wondered where all the sediment comes from, is the earth crust growing every year or what? And sometimes its so fast like som interior towns were coastal not that long ago, already in roman times, how fast did it go? Where did all that land come from? I guess its from winds tearing down mountains but its hard to imagine. With fossils you always see how they calculate the age with the sediments but how can all that sediment even land there in the first place?
