It doesn't really matter. First of all, countries move and change very slowly over time. Trump's time as president is really a very short period in the grand scheme of things. Second of all, it's only the European Union (basically a single country) and Canada that is acting cold toward the US in a way that will instantly stop and reverse as soon as it becomes convenient for those countries. Countries operate like individuals and do what feels beneficial for them in the moment, they don't like that Trump is being dickish on trade and trying to acquire new territory. It will all turn on it's head when the leadership changes and the US isn't playing hardball as much. The US is currently play good cop bad cop with its presidents.
