I had a weird experience hunting for turkey in the woods in northeastern Pennsylvania one time. Long story short, it there was snow on the ground and it was getting dark and I was still out there because I liked trying to track them in the snow and get them before they roosted for the night. I heard these totally insane shrill screams that sounded like a person so I went check it out and when I got to where it sounded generally like it was coming from it got dead quiet and the trees in front of me started shaking like crazy while the others didn’t. I high tailed it out and had to basically throw my shotgun around my back and get on all fours to climb back up this hill between me and my house. I was sincerely fucking terrified. I never had any other experience like that in the woods but I think about it every time I hunt.
