Somewhere around 400 cultures have a flood myth. Many had no way they could communicate being separated by oceans and many years.

To be 'Elite', is to know when to bug out. You retreat to safety, the world is 'cleansed' and you come down from the mountains and continue your rule.

The baltic sea was once a fresh water lake. Geological evidence supports a large flood with irreversible effects (some land remained submerged). Its not a far leap to think noah was a dude chillin in the caucus mountains with a big fishing boat, and his tribe thrived in the wake of a disaster thus his decedents make up basically all the population after mixing with survivors.

The two animals thing is for sure a fairy tale. You don’t have to believe in evolution to know that if you keep fucking your cousins shits gonna turn gay and retarded

I believe it too, but I understand why some people think it sounds insane.
The bible is an extremelly abridged and localized version of the event, telling a story that spanned through multiple years from the point of view of one man in one location in just a few pages.
The flood was real, the nephilim were real and the world was fucked up at the time and Noah listened to God and did what he could.

>No Evidence for Global Flood
Geology, physics, and biology show no signs of a worldwide flood covering the Earth's highest mountains, with insufficient water available for such an event.

>Physical Impossibilities
Fitting all animal species and the required food/water onto the described Ark presents major logistical and biological challenges, say critics.

>Ancient Flood Myths
The story shares strong similarities with older Sumerian and Babylonian flood narratives, like Utnapishtim's story in the Epic of Gilgamesh.

It happened. Many things in the Old Testament happened. And then Flavius Josephus wrote Antiquities of the Jews, which made jews the center of all those stories. Rome took that book, and edited it until they had the product they wanted.

Floods are common all over the world, but a flood that has been talked about for thousands of years must be something extraordinary.
Like the sea level rise after the last ice age.

>>527314097
this is the one part of the bible i really can't wrap my head around. there's no proof of a massive global flood, no genetic bottlenecks that would occur if you take the story literally, not to mention the sheer impracticality of the whole thing.
while many cultures have a flood story, i just don't think that can be easily extrapolated to a global flood. it's just a lot of local floods because of how dependent mankind is on proximity to water.

^^ really, it's that
virtually all the first human coastal settlements are at the bottom of the sea now
it just wasn't this massive cataclysmic 40 day rain that flooded the planet, and it happened over time
some probably happened quick but not quick enough to instantly inundate places like Doggerland

>>527314228
1. humans like to live in valleys
2. valleys are carved by water and occasionally deluge

ergo a devastating flood is common in oral histories of inland tribes

1. humans like to live near the coast
2. sea levels have risen 120 meters in the last 19000 years, and tsunamis are unpredictable

ergo a devastating flood is common in oral histories of prehistoric coastal communities

>The two animals thing is for sure a fairy tale. You don’t have to believe in evolution to know that if you keep fucking your cousins shits gonna turn gay and retarded
I have a degree in biology and I disagree.

You get two copies of a gene. One from mom, one from dad. If you get one good and one defective copy, you can get by. If you get two defective copies you are a fucked up deformed retard. That's why cousin fucking is bad. If your mom and dad were brother and sister, it dramatically increases the chances of you getting retard genes. On the other hand, if your parents aren't related, they probably both have retard genes but not the same specific retard genes.

If you consider that God created life perfect, with no retard genes, and retard genes were only created after entropy was introduced by original sin, it makes sense. Before the Great Flood, cousin fucking was less of a problem. It only became a problem because of the genetic bottleneck created by the flood.

>is God omnipotent, and omniscient?
The short answer is no, not in the sense you appear to mean.

This was a big debate between Islam and Christianity around the 12th century. Muslims said that Allah is all powerful (omnicient) in the sense he can do anything, including telling lies or switching the people in heaven and hell for shits and giggles.

The Christian answer is that God is only all powerful in the sense that He can do anything that it is possible for Him to do, within the limits of His nature. God can not be less than perfect. He can not lie. He can not be unjust. He can not contradict His own laws of logic--He can not create a four sided triangle four example.

That's because they all lived around rivers which flood periodically. Ancient people were terrified of floods. One minute everything's fine. The next your family and everything you own are swept away.

That's convenient and if you literally believe that then you are profoundly retarded. Why wouldn't God just put those animals in a shelter himself if he was able to wrangle them for Noah. There's lots of huge logic gaps if you keep thinking at it and don't give me that "lord works in mysterious ways" bullshit. The Bible was written by sandniggers that had infantile worldviews and it's very nature makes it so you have to take it literally and can't interpret it differently. It wasn't even a boat. It was a giant box. There was no keel and no rudder. And it would have fallen apart almost instantly. The largest wooden ship ever built was the Wyoming, and it flexed and took on water every time in went over a wave. And it was made by master shipbuilders using better materials and techniques. There's a reason giant ships are made out of metal.

So the word for "heaven" in the old testament is "Shamayim"
Well it turns out, the word Shamayim is made by combining 2 other words "Ocean" + "High place". You see the ancient Hebrews actually believed that over the sky-dome, was an ocean of water, thus explaining why the sky was blue. Also underground, was another ocean of water.
This is actually described in Genesis when god "divides the waters", some above, some below.

So the word "heaven" literally means "ocean in the sky", and in the time of Noah god opens up the "windows of the sky" letting that celestial ocean pour down onto the earth. Then cracks upon the great Deep so the water will bubble up from below.

Kent Hovind, the very devout creationist, tried to argue that Earth used to be surrounded by a floating ice-wall hanging in space, which fell to earth during the time of Noah. Like many very conservative christians, he believes there are oceans underground too.

In fact in the Old Testament, there is no mention of Heaven being some "spiritual realm" like you might imagine. That's a New Testament thing, since they were heavily influenced by Platonic ideas. The Christian conception of "heaven" is inspired by Plato's "world of forms" .

The story is not even worth seriously addressing. Its so fundamentally impossible and at odds with reality that precise refutement is not required. If it did happen, it did so in some other reality. My fan theory, is that this current world is a completely different realm to the biblical earth, the one god created in 7 days. Making the biblical earth a different world solves all the tension between reality and the bible. My theory is that when god switched to belief without evidence based salvation he moved humanity to this world and retconned human history.

>Underground and heaven. Not hard for a being who made it all ex nihilo.
If God is doing things like spawning in water, why go through the whole flood thing to begin with? Just change people's minds with a finger snap. What was the point of going through the whole show to begin with? Also, why the whole "ark" thing with the animals, if God can just spawn in more animals?
>The earth looked nothing like it does post-flood. God brought them to Noah.
But this supposedly happened in 2500 BC you know. That's part of recorded history.
>They walked, swam and flew
Koalas eat Eucalyptus trees that are native to Australia. How did Koalas walk all the way from Turkey, where Noah landed, to Australia, without their food source? They only waddle like 3 miles/hour
>Yes he knows the full story from the beginning. He made us knowing we would fall but knew that he would still give us the gift of salvation through His Son
So what was the point of the original couple thousand years, if it was just washed away and forgotten? Because it seems like god made a mistake, angrily washed it away, then tried again. If he was all foreseeing, that wouldn't have happened.

"This" is simply the flooding that occured after the last ice age. With glaciers receding across the globe, there were giant lakes of melted ice sitting on top of the ice. Eventually the edge of the lakes would melt and cause epic catastrophic floods all over the world for hundreds of years. Shit before the ice age is kinda fuzzy but we definitely existed, continued to exist during and after, and were probably recuperating, but at the same time we're recuperating the planet was destroying our shit over and over. To say it simply left us a story is probably an understatement. It didn't just scare us about water, it probably reaaaallly convinced us that the gods fucking hated us and that we need to keep them happy or we will just get obliterated.

the planet opened up (probably were the Vales Marinera is located) and water sprung forth from the sea. literally pushing the ocean level up while it caused vaporous clouds (just like volcanoes can cause black rain and lightening)

Well the irl noahs ark isnt your pic, it was like a modern supertanker for freight, except made of the hardest hardwood that grew in optimal hydroponics since that was the de facto state of mist coming uo from earth rather than rain
And it was best genetics possible for those plants
And wood was chosen over other materials because of the flex
Took noah and his sons about 100 years of prophesying and building the ark on dry land before the flood happened
And obviously you dont have to worry about bugs, fish, squids, or bacteriums
Also noah knew the clean from unclean animals; so kosher was default feom adam despite only eating meat post flood as it were
I think the appendix is our cellulose digesting organ that lost its value after we fell from Grace
And after 10 generations of inbreeding, you lose genetic longevity
Also, the septuagint gets the proper age of the patriarchs and their sons relative to the masoretic text; masoretic text purposefully subtracts 100 years from each of the 10 patriarchs to abraham in order to discredit a proper timeline to Jesus Christ as well as an accurate population growth curve for up until egyptian dynasties and their history lines with the biblical narrative
And we live in the end times just like the days of noah, this time is a Judgement by fire and a great tribulation of 3 andn1/2 years
Ezekiel 38 right around the corner any day now
And the mark of the beast as a financial singularity with augmented man is possibly also any day now
Ai is the beast that is and is not and yet is
Ai is the beast rising up out of the sea
Ai is already a primordial divination interface for idolators, and godless heathens already worship it, it also speaks blasphemies against El Shaddai- the Most High Almighty God
I think also, i may be wrong, but if you look at the current hyperinflation and precious metals; we ought to reach an equivalency of transaction relative to a penny for a measure of wheat / days work for your meal(s) soon

Or
The pole rotated about 30 degrees which would move the water from the "green sahara" to the Mediterranean which is littered with old cities on its coast that are now underwater.
The same pole movement would
fill the caspian
make the north sea a sea rather than a bunch of valley lakes
move the ocean from the below sea level parts of Australia where the desert is full of fossil coral reefs
inundate the east side of the Australia dividing range creating the mountain range that the great barrier reef sits on
wash a huge wall of water across the north of the Americas (ice age megafauna is deposited in valleys in alaska and canada support this)
Free the north west of Europe from its remnant ice cap.

And their false religions also all share thematics with mystery babylonian religion

Everything since the tower of babel has been a cultural appropriation game of telephone relative to the Truth as well as the darkness corrupting
Remember, 99.9999% Truth is sill a diluted lie
Only Jesus Christ is 100% Truth and above and beyond any false dichotomy such as lucifer defeating satan black and white masonic checkerboard bs
He is also the One True God Who Saves, and we must needs be born again by His Blood to be Redeemed

And God will continue Judging the earth as much as its inhabitants for their works

When the abomination of desolation occurs on the altar yet to be built in jerusalem, and the daily sacrifice stops in the evening and morning: the world as a whole will be Judged for their refusal of God as Master of all things
And the mark of the beast will so be the equivalent Judgement for the individual

Your conscious mind is not immanent within your own toenail cells. God is immanent within man. That is what it means to be created "in his image". Pagans made idols with their hands as a way to invite to the gods to inhabit that idol, so that it could be spoken to face to face. The idol was "in the image" of the pagan god. Humans are "in God's image" because we are vessels for his spirit.

Well I believe it happened first and foremost because the bible says it happened. But, Im not so prudish, for you, a secularist to take the word of God at face value. I can point to large valleys like the grand canyon that were likely formed very rapidly by surging water moving huge layers of sediment quickly. I can point to there being evidence of a large ancient boat near mount ararat modern day turkey. I could even say that the ocean water we have now is the settled flood water.
I want to go back and circle around to the grand canyon forming very rapidly. I do not believe the geologic column to be accurate and that the model was made not as a means of understanding the world but largely made to discredit a young earth model previously believed throughout the western Christian world.
In fact, you can see large deposits of different sediment forming in real time during volcanoes in little less than a couple of days. So a water that could fill the earth to the peaks of mountains could easily form the myriad valleys that we have today.

You are trying to understand what it is not given to man to understand. We do not have a grasp on the nature of God, free will, omniscience, etc. to be able to make any firm logically sound assessments. If you wish to come into communion with things that exist beyond the keyhole field of view we are given by the sense then adopt an attitude of epistemic humility. It is not hard for me to see why anyone would insist on restricting themselves to only what may be known with full knowledge, and indeed you can understand the material world in every detail down to the quark. But know that you are forswearing all fruits of the spirit, by your own volition.

I used to have official speeches and debates in my highschool regarding creationism and evolution. Funny thing is, back then I used to back up evolution and used most of these arguments against creationism especially for Noah's ark as it is scientifically unfeasible.
Oh how things have changed since then.
When you get out of your own pride and indoctrination, realize your experiences are true and that you were not there when foundations of Earth were laid you can easily dismiss belief in "science" as it has no practical truthfulness for you but see it as web of lies designed to entrap you.

Earth is 4.5 billion years old? You don't have anything good from believing in that, except it makes you feel insignificant.
Earth is flat/globe/toroid? Cool, it doesn't affect anything I do as I can only see it the way I can see it and it doesn't really matter.
Dinosaurs were real? Ok, cool looking feathers they are adding recently, artist impresions seem better and nicer.

I'm a simple servant, but through God's grace and being made in his image I do have a purpose through helping others through my own experiences, and not purpose to serve the system that serves itself.

Systems are designed to serve man, not for man to serve systems.

That's why everything in bible is true, as it serves the man, and almost everything in science is not, as it serves the system you believe in.

But you yourself said that we are creating the rules. Do you think that because we say things, they are the truth? Can you tell me the process behind any of the laws of this universe? The story is only impossible to you because you have limited yourself in a rigid set of rules that may or may not exist. You have outright stated a belief in a physical world only. Does the computer question who built it? Or because it exists does that mean it assembled itself. There is no existence that we can observe that was created without reason.

It's stupid, it didn't happen like your kike goy slop fairy tale book say it did, kikes as merchant during the babylon time, stolen their myths and stories, stories by the way were from the sumerians.
The story go that Ziusudra (noah kike didn't exist), was a King of his own people and got warn by one of his gods that other gods intent to btfo the Earth. A thus it did happen, but it was his royal family on the boat and his farm animals, like cattle, goats, etc.

The noahs ark story is not just slightly outside of the rules. Its so antithetical to the rules. And I am not talking about the formal laws of physics. I am talking about even our implicit understanding of reality that our brains build to model reality. Trying to force the noahs ark story into the narrative of this world breaks everything so fundamentally that reality looses all implicit meaning and we cannot know or understand anything anymore.

Im talking about the secular understanding of the first humans. The one which swedebro believes to be truth. The reason is very simple. He has been told his whole life that inbreeding will produce extinction. But, he does not have an answer to how the beginning of mankind could start without there being only inbreeding.

It's Karma for rejecting God.

The flood is a natural conclusion when the world has no believer.
>>
>>527328400
Maybe that is exactly the point. You can rely on other people, or authority figures known today as scientists to tell you our model of reality is right and therefore Noah's ark is a made up story.

Biblical literalism is the foundation that American Christianity is built on. Basically every Christfag in America outside of the Catholics has hitched their wagon to the concept of the bible being the literal unvarnished truth with no metaphor or ambiguity. They will go to any length, perform any mental gymnastic, embrace any silliness as long as it means that they can keep on believing the KJV to be the literal word of god, shat down from the heavens. As it turns out Calvin, Zwingli, Luther, and the others didn't think their theological spergout through.

Humans did not emerge from a single pair, but rather from a large population, eliminating the need for initial inbreeding.
While early inbreeding was rare, it is generally believed that natural selection in early human populations helped remove the most harmful, recessive genetic mutations that inbreeding can create

The have to be like that because they have maneuvered themselves into a corner. Exactamundo, and the emphasis is even more intense in America because in Lutheran Germany and Britain they developed something of a weakened church hierarchy. Far from the imposing apostolic edifice of the Catholic Church but it was at least something. Meanwhile American Christians are pretty much theological anarchists who resent any sort of church authority or check on the ability of pastor dumbass to spew his headcanon interpretation of scripture. As long as pastor dumbass' interpretation is excruciatingly literal it will not rankle the sensibilities of American Christians, even if they do pedantically pick at the edges.

Homo sapiens evolved from a broader lineage of ancestral species (Homo heidelbergensis or Homo erectus) that already numbered in the thousands across Africa. Rather than appearing as a single "Adam and Eve" pair, modern humans emerged from a diverse, interlinked network of populations that had existed for millions of years.
>>
>>527329270
That just seems impossible swedebro.
Why havent we observed a single instance of macro evolution in our lifetimes. Did all the species evolve to the point they are now and just finished. Of the billions of kinds of animals humans and insects why aren't there any major evolutionary changes that are observable? We havent even observed single cell organisms transform into multi cell organisms. You might try to show me a study done where scientists in a lab basically force two single cell organisms together for a couple of seconds call it a multi cellular transformation and then quietly not report that the organism dies instantly, but even that is under conditions not found anywhere else on earth. But, there is still not one single instance of a deer birthing a dog. A horse birthing a human etc etc etc. Why should I believe you?
