Firearms, sure. But are Americans allowed to conceal carry a Swiss Army knife? If yes, annex us. Do it faggots.

Of course, unless you are in a democrat run shitty.

Americans aren't allowed to conceal carry or even just keep, that's a lie.
didn't believe the lie.
they require a license for almost everything.

one time i was even warned by a sheriff that it was illegal to carry a bullet in my person, and i risked getting arrested if found with one or in public.

don't believe American propaganda, America is NOT the land of liberty we were dupped into believing.
it's a land of slavery and lies.

Why have just a knife when you could have a multi-tool?
>>
>>527926578
Because I own tools.
>>
>>527926578
Why have a multi tool when you can have machines? I’m impressed with the Swiss army pocket knife as a piece of tech, at one point in time that shit was probably cutting edge, no pun intended
>>
>>527926148
Yes lol. I live in shithole CA and you can carry a pocket knife provided it's small. I've carried a chink leatherman, an opinel, or a swiss army since I was 16.

>>527929088
You obviously fail to realize the vast utility gained from only one additional tool in your toolkit. I bet you’ll look back on this day and kick yourself for not listening to anons advice, finding yourself in a situation where simple pliers(with a notch out for turning bolts) may well be the difference between life and an agonizingly long death in circumstances where you’re unlikely to be rescued. At sea, on the side of the Alps with only half a plane fuselage as shelter, or way the fuck out in BFE when a critical part blows out and you just need to Jerry rig it to work a little bit longer.
>>
>>527926148
To answer your question, OP, yes, one can carry a knife in their pocket, but many states have limits as to the blade length and inconsistent methods of measuring it. Texas I believe was 4” or 5”, but every cop I saw checking a blade did so by laying it across the width of their palm and declaring it illegal if it was longer than that with the hilt up against the side of their palm. Texas also used to have an unconstitutionally vague definition of a “switchblade” which included all knives that can be opened/actuated with only one hand- even the support posts on folding knives made them de-facto switchblades, as were knives that had a loose detent, allowing one to open it with a flick of the wrist. That was thankfully stricken from the books, but regardless, never refer to your knife as a weapon, it is a tool. If you just so happen to need to use it for self defense as it’s the most viable thing you have, fine, but do not call it a weapon or say you carry it for any reason other than work/utility/tool purposes. “I cut open boxes at work and my boss didn’t issue me a box cutter, or they did and I just don’t like using ‘em because I find them more dangerous due to unfamiliarity with handling them”.
>>
>>527926148
Real men carry a Leatherman. Swiss army knives are for Cub scouts.
>>
>>527929689
I was going to tell him, those pliers come in real handy when you’re living in the woods and need to rip out a botched toe nail or something.
>>
>>527930124
Personally, if a cop ever wanted to measure my blade, I’d insist on it being done with a ruler, calipers, or measuring tape that has valid calibration confirmation from an NIST recognized tool Calibration Service, and fight like hell in the courts if they didn’t do so. In fact, If I were dead to rights(seemingly), I’d let them take their invalid and unverified measurements and then claim illegal and unwarranted detention. Even if the knife is found to be too long, so long as there was no valid reason to have been checking it in the first place(and no consent to search given), this would maybe hold up, but if it was found as a result of a stop which was going to result in a trip downtown anyhow, then one would be pretty fucked.
>>
>>527930192
And far more convenient than carrying various wrenches, channel locks, or vise grips.

Re: toenails, assuming it’s a “hangnail”, one that digs really deep into the side of your nail bed at the tips of the nail, best way of prevention is to not trim your toenails via the “ripping off” method, and instead use nail clippers. Also, try to stay on top of keeping them trimmed down so they don’t press up against the inside of your boots. But I know there’s hundreds of ways to botch a toenail where removal is the only way forward. Been there, done that.
>>
>>527930638
I don’t carry one, but I have 3 leathermans in my toolbox. Know what I carry in my pocket that I never leave him without? A peanut butter and jelly sandwich, sometimes two, I’ll stick one in both pockets
>>
>>527930688
Nigger they are hand fucking assembled and go through a very rigorous QC process. You are misinformed, Swiss army knives are world renowned for their quality and vast, customizable selection. Maybe you’ve only held a very cheap model or even a knockoff, if ever at all.
Way out of left field, anon
>>
>>527930944

Reel it in anon, the Swiss Army knife was probably revolutionary at one point in time but I’d feel bad for anyone who had to go into the woods of Northern Appalachia in February with only a Swiss Army knife and try to create for yourself enough wood to even keep your hands warm. I had to cut a few logs with like an 7-8 inch curved handsaw one time, took so much time, energy, and was beyond frustrating. I’m sure it can be done, and a Swiss Army knife is light and can be carried easily it’s not baggage and is a useful tool
>>
>>527931060
Also, I have a bunch of water bottles stuffed into the available voids with my spare tire and jack in the floor, good place to keep them out of the way but available in an emergency (or just if the dog needs water while we’re out).

If you drive, you’d be well advised to toss one leatherman in your center console. Never know when it may come in handy.

I will 100% give you that, I’d way rather have even a knockoff leatherman in such an emergency situation over a SAK, but I’m a little autistic and watched a special on TV a few years ago similar to “how it’s made” covering the SAK production line. Interesting stuff- well, plenty of minutiae anyhow.

People have no respect for the traditions handed down and storied histories of old companies that defined their industry as a whole, either by kickstarting it or massively improving the processes used in a game changing way. I bet most whipper snappers don’t even know the basic history of IBM and their contributions to the idea of a Personal Computer at all(even though they only believed in the business applications and largely rejected the home market until the PCjr). Respect paid where due in my books.

PS, Northern Appalachia, lived in WV for many years in BFE, the center of the state in a town of 300-400. IDK how far north you are now, but I definitely know the work that goes in to living a life closer to what we are meant to live. It felt really good knowing the house was heated all winter on wood you fell, cut, split, and seasoned. And the work of actually doing so, loading up the woodshed and then loading the porch with wood in the early fall, etc, doesn’t feel nearly so hard, you walk away feeling good about having done it.

There was however nothing fun about the well pump blowing a pipe in January, requiring replacing both inlet pipes and the elbows which then extend down the well casing.

Yeah, I have 5 SwAKs. Including one of these.
I also carry a Spiderco Para-3 and a Kabar Big Brother(bowie knife).

And yes, I learned how to knife fight, because the last think you wanna do in a knife fight is not know how to do it.

Kinda like that, yup. The Para-3 is razor-honed so it can disembowel or cut someone's throat with no real trouble, the Kabar is also razor-honed but is generally a distraction until needed to puncture the heart for the final kill.

Ah. Some of us are more into self reliance than others, I suppose, or maybe you’re just older and beyond that part of life. For joints, hemostats should always be nearby, or an alligator clip even. Been a long time since I’ve come across the papers with a built in holder.

You’d be surprised how handy a magnifying glass can be, I carry a 10x/20x loupe basically everywhere, it’s always in the car or on my work bench(in relatively active use), though I have a machinists microscope for serious magnification. Basically have only needed that for home doctor and vet stuff, though. And research. Braver than I, posting face on here, if indeed is you - not bothering to reverse image search.

I was thinking he must have been a minor attending school when that occurred, although in Massachusetts, yes, you literally can be arrested and jailed for being in possession of ONLY ammunition, and I’m pretty sure that even expended cartridges are a grey area. If you don’t have an FID, one cannot legally possess ammunition in MA, even if you moved here from a state where you could. It’s a whole process to even get a permit from your local police department after having taken a comprehensive firearms course, and until very recently they could deny you for basically any reason.

t. very unhappy in Massachusetts, RI no better, I’d move to NH if retirement was an option at 33.

Banned in most of western-europe because immigrants go stabby-stab which of course means that everybody will have to be punished.
Related to this is a funny story I have. In Oslo, the capital and official toilet of Norway they've had a whole lot of problems with this and doing any meaningful actions to prevent knife-violence would mean that the Police would have to target immigrant dense areas and this in turn would have caused an uproar in the socialist-press with accusations about "profiling" and whatnot so what does the Oslo police do in order to make it seem like they are doing something? Well, they set up checkpoints and perform body searches on people coming home from work in the rush hour and are thus able to find a couple of Victorinoxes, a leatherman and similar and charge those people and then they can pat themselves on the back and say they did a good job without being called racist.
>>

Oh without a doubt man, I wouldn’t be surprised at all because I’ve lived in the woods with little to no interaction with society for almost five years. There’s a reason I showed you guys the magnifying glass. I wanted to make a survival bracelet or like more like a bicep band, with paracord, have some fishing line spooled into it, put a few fishing hooks and some other simple survival tools on it. Something to start a fire in a pinch was on my mind, flint and steel or a magnifying glass. Nothing crazy but I wanted it to look cool, I like to be stylish but something functional is like a bonus. Yes the picture is me, thank you for taking the time to have a conversation with me, Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me

>you’re out boating on a big lake, or in the ocean, or some remote area, and your prop gets tangled up on a line some jackass just left attached to a cinder block and cut loose.
>all you need is a knife to self-rescue, no reason to start paddling, involve the coast guard, or radio for help, as cutting a fucking rope is something you are capable of doing

Back in Boy Scouts, the standard fire starter to carry was a pill bottle or film canister filled with Vaseline-laden cotton balls, paired with a bag of strike-anywhere waterproof matches. I think the heads were green, thin wax coated. Personally, I carry a zippo that I keep up with fueling every 2wks(it gets used), with two extra flints packed into the foam. Maglite in car has an extra bulb in the cap. I’m all about functionality myself, although for my daily use items, I’m pretty picky in that I like to have things that are “pleasing” to use, that “elevate” an otherwise droll task one must do anyway- a well bodied Cross or Parker pen and mechanical pencil(cross, with the cross-hatch grip, 0.5mm, 0.7, and 0.9) rather than Bic, a mechanical self winding watch(Elgin, although new Seiko are really good quality) rather than a cheapo that needs battery replacement too often, a Buick Roadmaster that floats like a cloud packing LT1 350 V8 power and is a pleasure to own rather than a Corolla that “just werks”. An IBM AT clicky keyboard. It’s the little things that make life loads more enjoyable.

Cool trick, just insert your fist into their mouth and grab on to snout/jaw, then rotate. Only in emergency, life threatening situations, don’t do it before the dog actually begins an attack. And don’t do it to a chihuahua, it will be very frowned upon by the judge

“ The Leatherman Signal is built for any adventure. It includes a ferro rod (to spark fires), an emergency whistle, a hammer surface, and a sharp combo blade.

Some eagle eyed autist will be very appreciative. There’s a reason I walk while watching where I’m going! Primarily so I won’t step on/into anything unfortunate, but there’s the added benefit of finding things people lost and gave up looking for. Ofc if I ever came across something that looked sentimental, I’d be inclined to at least try to locate the owner, but most things are treated with a “finders keepers” attitude. Probably most fortunate find was $50 in a bank parking lot when I was very much in need of cash between paychecks in my early days. Was I ever thankful for that crossing of paths, I was there dropping off a check that was going to take nearly a week to clear.
