>>527967808Alevis in Turkey are the same, they don't pray or have mosques but communal buildings called 'Cemevi' where they sing songs and dance around. Officially they're Shia but the ones in Syria were probably closer to Christians but didn't want to convert so stayed nominally Muslim. Syria and Turkey used to have millions of Christians so it wouldn't have looked so out of place as it does now.
