Why in the fuck is the judicial system so inaccessible?Centuries of existence and evolution, yet it's still so fucking unaffordable to hire a lawyer to respond to even a relatively simple civil case against you and self-representation isn't recommended either. The civil courts are literally tax-funded dispute resolution systems provided as a public service by the state that resolve private disputes between private individuals, for example over contracts, yet in reality they're inaccessible to the people, very expensive to actually use, and are the last resort for resolving disputes to everyone, including big corpos. But okay, maybe the rules of procedure and rules of evidence are too complicated to learn in sufficient detail by reading a single book, but the phrase "the lawyer who represents himself has a fool for his client" implies that even lawyers shouldn't represent themselves, so the system requires you to hire expensive professionals in any case. The system isn't fair at all and there's no real civil justice for an average person if, I don't know, a car repair shop fucks your car up, but you don't have the money to afford a lawyer to sue. When will the judicial system be fixed and be finally reasonably affordable or perhaps workable with self-representation if the former isn't a realistic option, for civil cases at least?
