In a few years, AI video generation will be indistinguishable from reality.
Video proof of crimes will be labeled as potential AI.
How will the court deal with this?
The only thing that may be considered official is footage taken directly from the cctvs installed by the government. But even that thing can be controlled, they can just deny the existence of proof.

@grok, make a video of Fern choking on nigger dicks

I'm programming software that detects whether a video is AI-generated or not. I'm going to be a billionaire in the future; screen cap this.

We'll have to go back to eyewitness accounts, which will suck.

Or we could make new episodes for ctcd

i think /gif/ is already 99% of the way there

>Your honor, we argue that this software does not boast a 100% infallible scoring system; in other words, it is not reliable, similar to a polygraph test and cannot be admissible in a court of law

It won't then bet that different from the world before the 20th century when they had no hard evidence like that at all either. There will be more evolutionary pressure towards high trust societies again.

Futile. Any functional discriminator can just be used to train better AIs.

>White guy attacks a nonwhite
>caught on camera
>Wasn't me, it was AI generated.
>Gets off scot free
Can only hope that's the direction headed.

Legal tech is always a head of the curve. Some type of metadata probably.

Unfortunately will lead to more power going to the government to the truth. Only trust will be given from bodycams, US recordings of stuff like bombings or whatnot, anything without a official watermark cannot be trusted.
>>
We'll be fine. We essentially just go back to the time before cameras/video proof

I got a feeling that this will get out of hand very quickly if they don't regulate anytime soon- worse than what it is. When they start releasing robots for consumption like they do w/ cars, it'll be over.

Just like how the mimic detection spell is only 99% accurate

And? Its pretty over if you ask me

some nerd will create an AI detector.

Digital videos are just data. One can make a new video format for irl cameras and encrypt any amount of verification data in there.

This.
Every video frame will have several hash codes. One for the frame itself, one derived from the frame before AND the current frame, and one from the frame after AND the current frame. And maybe a few others I can't think of.
Faking those hash codes for AI generated video would be like breaking hard encryption.

Someone smarter than me tell me if this is possible or not based on how AI works, but know how printers leave behind marks on paper so the FBI can track where it came from? Could they simply make AI put a code inside the generated image/video what have you to prove if a video is AI or not?
