>literally RM5-10 gets you a full, tasty meal almost anywhere
>tropical weather year-round (if you like warm and no winter shoveling)
>beaches, islands, rainforests, mountains all within a few hours drive
>English is widely spoken (especially in cities and among younger people)
>no winter = no seasonal depression from darkness and cold
>good and improving healthcare system (private hospitals are world-class and still affordable)
>relatively low violent crime rates in most areas
>easy to get around Southeast Asia for cheap weekend trips
>fast internet in cities (especially fibre in urban areas)
>many expat-friendly areas with international schools
>taxes are low for most people (especially compared to Europe/North America)
>fresh tropical fruits basically all year for almost nothing
>night markets (pasar malam) give insane food variety for pocket change
>relatively easy visa options for many nationalities (MM2H, digital nomad visa, etc.)
>people are generally polite and non-confrontational in daily life
>cute east asian girls due to 25% Chinese population

Why isn't anyone mentioning Malaysia here when it's literally the place to restart?
