I truly believe she was abducted by extraterrestrial entities and the government found evidence of that so they're forcing Savannah and her family to stage a ransom like it's an ordinary crime. People across the world for decades now have testified about being abducted by aliens straight out of their beds at night. I believe the same thing happened here except this time something went wrong on the aliens' part and investigators know this which is why they're doing this elaborate cover up.
