Is it true that the people who signed with ICE genuinely thought they'd be getting a 50k bonus? I mean who would actually believe that shit? Do they also think that their government is going to have their backs in the coming years?

The Army had a similar approach...
They'll pay it out over the course of their contract (if they even pay it out), and if you violate or break the contract; you're paying that money back.
