The US has been in a rolling recession since mid 2022 when They changed the definition of a recession. Furthermore, normal Americans have been in a recession for 20 years.

Americans are too lazy. They're not willing to work for $1/hour like the immigrants are.

Seriously though, the US is losing a lot of international deals and influence with the tariffs.
>>
the average american doesn't care about facts >>528026371
which is honestly great. They can't recover if they are immune to self-criticism. Trump is doing God's work. One retarded America anon wrote on this board once, "the only thing that can destroy America is itself" - I agree - and it's happening.

MY PRESIDENT!

purchasing power/dollar influence
future job rates
military information
seat at the table for future international conflicts
losing the EU as primary partner
investments drifting elsewhere (like my country yay)
credibility
strategy decoupling accelerates
retaliation becomes normalized and countries start to hit back in a coordinated manner because TACO
trade and military allies scatter and rivals act together

Ultimately those defects negatively trickle down into education, safety/crime, life expectancy, housing affordability, food affordability and variety, transportation and healthcare standards - all of which hit your HDI.

Individually, none of these points should hurt the US. But when they compound, and add to that your national debt, you see the erosion of an empire. The entire macro dynamics change, and because of persistent irrational and hostile behavior, you are no longer trusted - not for five minutes, but for decades.

You're in a car with your buddies but the designated driver is clearly intoxicated and starts talking about suicide and being aggressive towards the peers. Do we let him keep driving or do we kick his ass out into the curb?

The only reason we are technically not in a recession is because the rich are pouring money into AI with hopes of getting rid of most wagies with AI and robots. Removing AI spending then the US economy would be contracting 3% gdp or more a quarter. But you could also argue if AI spending didn't exist then the money being spent on it would be being spent on other sectors and gdp would remain exactly the same.
