"The denunciation of scandal is always an homage to the law. And Watergate in particular succeeded in imposing the idea that Watergate was a scandal-in this sense it was a prodigious operation of intoxication."Watergate functioned as a simulation of moral transgression. It was 'staged' to reaffirm the reality of political morality. The system proved that it still had ethics, limits and accountability. It didn't reveal the system was broken, it saved the illusion that it wasn't.So ask yourself: What function does the Epstein files "revelation" serve in the symbolic order? They are a ritual. Controlled unveiling, a spectacle of truth, a simulation of transparency. You even have this official government page where you can search the files and 'consume' this spectacle. It is staging the idea that power can truly be exposed and threatened. Names circulate, media debates explode, social networks moralize, and no structural consequences occur. It's hypervisibility wihtout effect. This new scandal replaces justice with documentation, accountability with discourse, action with "being informed". We are not meant to act, only to know, argue and feel outrage. It's the illusion that the system is capable of self correction, the files release essentially admit evil, contains evil and therefore makes the system remain legitimate - a restored moral order. The real crime disappears behind its sign. Epstein becomes a sign, alongisde pedophilia and corruption. But the system remains untouched.Be suspicious of scandals that reassure you that truth still matters. If the files truly threatened power, they wouldn't appear as a consumable media event. They would produce silence, disappearance, or structural rupture. Instead, we get endeless circulation, 0 closure, 0 transformation. The Epstein files do not hide the truth, they are meant to make us believe that there is a truth there to be fully uncovered. And once we believe that, we stop questioning the system itself.

>>528032966>the system remains untouched.No. We're going to kill these fuckers. Criminal investigations have started outside of the US. Any Canadian involved in this shit will get murdered inside or outside of prison.
But no one is getting arrested or impeached. And they didn't release more than 3% of them, mostly with redactions. No one in the normiesphere believes this isn't still a massive coverup
>>528032966Good post. Another way to look at it is through the lens of the scapegoat mechanism being enacted. In Girard work on the subject he actually mentions that after the tension has been diffused and the scapegoat expelled that very same scapegoat gets elevated to sainthood ( Epstein is actually cool/based shit)
