Yeap, it's a fucked up world we live in. Then again I lost hope in humanity a long time ago anyway. I mean, even if there weren't any wars, life is still just a fucking competition, who has the best grades, who has the best job, who is BEST. Just fucking tired of it all, really.

>>528582759There's no glory in war. It's what they say so men will risk their lives!BTW in trench warfare in WW1 millions of men died moving backwards and forwards over the same spot of land. Before WW1 in colonial warfare men would march in mass and randomly get shot so the battalion could get into range so the muskets would be more accurate. Drone warfare is just the new metagame of infantry war. It's only going to get worse with AI tools and mass drone swarms. Imagine drones flying into buildings and hunting down people on their own. It's really terrifying. Police could send in drones into your house to kill or disable you. The future is bleak.

>>528582916>bowstoo late, it was already pozzed
It's not like there's a big list of compassionate ways to kill human beings, but drone warfare is especially terrible. We've known that one of the worst aspects of war is the psychological toll it leaves on survivors, or even just witnesses to war. I felt sick the first time I saw a gif on 4chan of a soldier being executed. I learned that it was a russian soldier being killed by a chechen, and I felt sorry for both of them, despite not knowing who these people were or why they were even fighting. Now, I see that worse than when war leaves a psychological toll is when it doesn't. You see videos on fucking youtube, not even age restricted until they hit a 500k views, of "epic montage drones DEVASTATING russo-fascists 720p kills only" or "Ukraine traitors cut in half by new Russian super drone (#12 will AMAZE you)", like it's a Call of Duty noscope video or the slop influences put out in an hour when they catch whiff of a trend. People in the comments are celebrating not just their country or their side winning battles or winning the war; they're watching these videos and celebrating the death of individual men, and relishing the fear on their face and the desperation of their final, futile struggle to live. It's inhumane. I think this is what people used to think about snipers in war; they kill people so far away that they risk virtually nothing and can't even see the face of the person they're killing, allowing them to distance themselves from the act of killing and letting them take lives without really feeling what they've done. Now, with the advent of modern technology, we've all become the sniper; watching death like we're right on the battlefield, but risking nothing, and letting it turn us into something that delights in death rather than abhors it.And, as evidenced by this thread, you get commenters from across the globe rushing to call you a retard for not liking drone warfare. I understand the necessity, I just hate what its done to us.
>>528587424>actually I think he sounds more like a polish soldier who "dedicated" himself to the craftdoubt, we are on 4chan. who the fuck here "dedicates" to anything other than shitposting?

>>528587687anon the war wouldnt be happening if faggots couldnt lob exploding rocks
read all quiet on western front
>>528583984Nobody is forced to share videos of drone kills on 4chan especially when it unironically makes ukrainians look worse
>>528582759This drone vs human era is just a transition period before we go full drone/robot vs drone/robot. Countries can't rely on the young to fight their wars anymore in the current era of population collapse. Any ww2 major power would wipe the floor with their current counterpart in equal technology conditions because modern countries are not able to harness as much fighting age manpower as before.
>>528587652Not really. I was just thinking about how the drone could spot the target on the ground then make an angled nose dive. It could even track the target via nose dive and make slight deviations to close in on the target. Im sure there's a mathematical equation that can formulate the proper distance, angle and speed needed to hit small moving targets. These drones could be the modern version of artillery. You just need to calculate the distance as the operator. So the drone could launch at 400 mph? and then by the time it reaches the target(above like a shell) it could be then guided to the target. It would do away with needing to drag around heavy shells and artillery since the drone powers itself in flight. It would mean infantry could be more mobile and dynamic. I wonder why it took so long to build a drone that is shaped like a jet or a bullet with turbines. Hovering drones like in the beginning of the ukraine war are designed to take photos or video but those were being used as suicide drones. Sure they worked but there's easy counters to those now. These supersonic drones seem to be unbeatable. By the time they are discovered the target is already dead. No buzzing around annoying like a bee then slowly bombing. Just instant above death. You will just see Russians standing there, then vaporizing into a pink mist.
>>528582759Honestly fuck gay ass honor. I want a swift bomb death instead of a rusty bayonet or rotting trench foot
>>528588404based and coup de grace pilledhague can blowy dick
>>528588323Hey the same was thought during WW2 that air supremacy meant wars would be fought clean and quickly. And even sides who gained air supremacy would not even need to bomb targets and they would surrender. But that wasn't the case during WW2 was it? The human condition always complicates things and war is not exactly a rational win or lose game. Because it's not a game and in your hypothetical even if drone warfare and robotics are the means to victory it doesn't mean the other side doesn't have a counter. So i believe there will always need to be an army that forces the other side to surrender as no nation will just simply give up when facing robots and drones. Because again the robots and drones were built by people and they are just tools of war not humanity.
>>528582759What anons think war was like before drones, picrel.
>>528589015Kek. The thing OP is upset about is drone warfare removing the randomness from war. Before there was always the idea that you could survive war using superior tactics to defeat the enemy and win. Drone warfare removes the human element and discards any of the randomness like from shelling or human errors. Drone warfare and drone operators are like the new snipers. Everyone hated snipers because it was like drones defacto cheating by removing all randomness and all human errors to kill someone from far away and there's nothing you can do to avoid being sniped. So the same thing with drone operators. They are untouchable like snipers and OP hates them because he can't use any means to kill them before they kill him. You should know if drone operators are caught and some are they are treated rather sadistically by the enemy forces. Drone warfare is seen as cowardly and dishonorable so they are worm shit in the eyes of soldiers.
>>528582759Drones are simply the most hated thing now because there’s no counter. Which replaced air superiority, artillery, dreadnoughts, rifles, muskets, horse archers, the bow, the spear, etc.
>>528586330There was a black mirror episode on this. They had drone mosquito swarms. You won’t even be able to see or hear it - you’d just die. Like you said it’s gonna get worse in more ways than you can even imagine. Resistance would be futile.
>>528585423Not really true, historically. War was a lot more strategic, political, and even gentlemanly in the past because it was fought at the behest of a tightly interwoven group of elites who were often married to each other’s countries. That’s why modern Ukrainians believe in fighting down to the last man and sacrificing their entire nation where a historical civilization would have just found terms much earlier on. Historical warfare had lots of brutality of course but it also had duels, negotiations, surrender, vassalization, various other ways to reshape the political landscape. Modern war is aimless proxy war MIL faggotry or this horde warfare “to the last man” faggotry with no real exception.
>>528585423But anon, if you kill your enemy they actually win!
>>528582759War represents the failure of the human species and will ultimately end it. There is no honor in it, you’ve seen too many movies.

>>528586576propellors start to break down at supersonic speeds you'd need a jet engine to break through that wall The hobbyist quad copter tech race is nearing it's physics limits without breaking apart
>>528582759Games are games, war is war.You can still do all that crap if you want to and it still sees rare occasional use in real contemporary warfare, but murder like that is always messy.FPV stuff just means you get to be along for the ride in a visual sense, for the rest it is not so different from any long distance weapon. And believe it or not back in the days people like you used to bitch about the invention of the crossbow for the same reason.
>>528585423>>528590555You are thinking of bankers wars not wars of rape, genocide, plunder, land acquisition ect. The germ is right that typically the idea behind war is to kill your opponent to make room for yourself. Modern gentlemen war is war to spread use of the dollar and ethnically replace populations via mass immigration or race mixing. Which is the same as before but more "humane". War never changes. In the end it's always about killing your enemy. >>528591429War has been around forever and it's never going away. People will always find a reason to kill each other. War is natures natural selection and it's designed to weed out the weak so the species survives. Notice populations are dropping in a world without general conflict? After WW2 the global population boomed from 2 billion to 9 billion. Now it's dropping. Lack of resources, space, incomes, opportunities....

>>528582759I asked AI.ME: Can fiber optic tethered drones be electronically detected and how can you take them down?AI: Detection ChallengesFiber optic tethered drones are extremely difficult to detect electronically. Unlike traditional RF-controlled drones, they don't emit radio frequency signals that can be picked up by conventional counter-drone systems While these drones do contain electronic subsystems like flight controllers that emit some electromagnetic emissions, those signals are extremely weak and detecting them is difficult The fiber optic cable transmits data using light signals rather than radio waves, making the drone effectively "RF silent" from a detection standpoint This is particularly valuable in contested environments where RF detection systems are the primary means of identifying aerial threats Current ApproachesPhysical interception: Launching counter-drones to physically intercept incoming fiber optic drones before they reach their targets Mobile radar systems: Using radar for early warning detection several kilometers away, then deploying counter-drones Kinetic projectiles: Specialized ammunition like 12-gauge projectiles connected by Kevlar tethers, optimized for engagements at 100-120 meters Autonomous turrets: AI-assisted systems with thermal optics and automatic tracking capabilities CountermeasuresTaking down fiber optic drones requires kinetic solutions rather than electronic warfare:Key ChallengeThe main vulnerability is the physical fiber cable itself, but research into defeating these drones by targeting the cable has not proven very successful and requires physical access. Traditional electronic countermeasures like jamming are completely ineffective against this technology.
>>528591917idk I was just thinking it would be funny as hell to break the sound barrier with a toy but upon researching it it's a lot harder than I imagined. But what's the difference between 400mph and 760mph controlling it would be really difficult and miniature jet engines consume a ton of fuel Those 400mph ones could be really dangerous if programmed well
>>528582759>Am I the only one disgusted by fpv drone execution videos?on your supporting side you sure seem to be
>>528582759Can tethered drones be detected with any form of radar?Yes, fiber optic tethered drones can be detected using radar systems, but with significant limitations. High-resolution radars, such as those in the AirGuard platform, are specifically designed to detect drones by analyzing reflected signals and comparing them to a database of drone signatures However, the detection capability depends heavily on the drone's size and Radar Cross Section (RCS), which is typically very low for commercial drones due to their small size and materials like plastic that don't reflect radar well For example, AirGuard radar can detect drones larger than 6 inches, with detection ranges of up to 0.9 miles for larger drones and 0.4 miles for smaller ones Despite these capabilities, traditional radar systems often struggle with miniaturized drones, which can have an RCS similar to that of a bird, leading to potential confusion and false positives Additionally, drones operating at low altitudes may be obscured by ground clutter like buildings and trees, further complicating detection To improve reliability, radar systems are often integrated with other detection methods, such as RF sensors and cameras, and supplemented with AI for better classification and human oversight to filter out false alerts
>>528582759MEP Do tethered drones have an auditory signal that can be detected in advance of their arrival?AI: Yes, tethered drones can be detected through their auditory signals, although the detection methods vary depending on the technology used. Fiber optic tethered drones, which do not emit radio frequency (RF) signals, can still be detected through their acoustic signatures. Research has shown that deep learning techniques can effectively detect and identify drones based on their acoustic features, such as the sound of propellers, even in noisy environments For instance, a study demonstrated that a drone detection system using audio analysis and deep learning algorithms could achieve high accuracy in detecting drones, with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) outperforming other models Additionally, acoustic sensor technology has been developed to detect drones outside the field of vision, using intelligent algorithms to analyze sound patterns This approach is particularly useful for passive detection systems that do not emit signals detectable by adversaries However, the effectiveness of acoustic detection can be limited by environmental factors such as background noise and weather conditions Despite these challenges, acoustic detection remains a viable method for identifying drones, especially when combined with other sensor technologies like radar or visual systems
>>528582759ME: If you are out in the open without any means to take cover, is there any way to defend yourself and defeat a fiber opitc tethered drone?AI: If you're in the open with no cover and facing a fiber optic tethered drone, your options are extremely limited due to the drone's stealth capabilities and the lack of electronic countermeasures. Here's what you can realistically do:Immediate Actions:Avoid direct confrontation: The drone is likely carrying a payload (e.g., surveillance, delivery, or weapon). Do not attempt to physically engage it, as this could trigger a defensive response or cause the drone to release its payload.Use visual cues: If you can see the drone, look for the fiber optic cable. It may be visible as a thin, reflective line extending from the drone to a ground station. This cable is the drone's lifeline and is its primary vulnerability.Create distractions: If you're in a public area, draw attention to the drone by shouting or using a loud noise (e.g., a whistle or air horn). This may cause the drone to retreat or reposition, potentially revealing its operator or cable.Use physical barriers: If there are nearby objects like fences, walls, or vehicles, use them to block your line of sight or create a barrier between you and the drone. This can limit the drone's ability to track or target you.
>>528582759AI:Key Limitations:No electronic countermeasures: Traditional jamming techniques are ineffective against fiber optic drones, as they don't rely on RF signals.Limited physical access: The drone's cable is often protected by a shielded conduit, making it difficult to cut without specialized tools.Risk of escalation: Attempting to disable the drone yourself could lead to unintended consequences, such as the drone releasing a payload or triggering a defensive response. In summary, the safest course of action is to avoid direct engagement and rely on external authorities to handle the situation. If you must act, use visual and auditory cues to assess the threat and create distractions, but prioritize your safety above all else.

>>528592252In my hypothetical bomb design the flight to the target could be sub sonic but the descent could be supersonic. Like you said the reason why turbines are probably not used is they take too much fuel, The propellers move more air to reach those speeds at a fraction of the energy required. At supersonic speeds controlling the drone would not be an issue since it would be arriving to detonate in seconds. Seeing that video is interesting since i didn't realize before that drones could move so fast.
