Utilizing the rhetoric of prioritizing freedom is great for socially destabilizing revolutions because of how relatively applicable the terminology is. As soon as “freedom” from the other is achieved, new servitudes can be set for the “liberated” populace, and since the goal of attaining freedom has already been obtained then the people will not even see their new chains as such. In practice the usage is particularly Orwellian as it seeks to control language and thoughts rather than define morality.
