You used to be able to join a local monastery or live in the mountains if you were tired of degeneracy, and never see a normie again. Now they've made it so you can never escape the madness of the modern world. Was this intentional?
You could join a monastery today if you want, or go innawoods. But you'd have to give up 4chan and you aren't prepared to make that sacrifice.
>>528931919What will it take for you to make that sacrifice anons, what is your price to give up 4chan?
>>528931685>Now they've made it so you can never escape the madness of the modern world.how do you mean? i stayed a a couple monasteries before.
>>528931955Honestly? 2.5 million dollars. That's how much money I need to liberate myself from society. If I could do that, I would say goodbye to all social media and never look back.
>>528931685Just go to a monastery, man.You don't even need to join the brotherhood.Just spend some time there.
>>528931685religious fanatics are even worse than normalfags. being trapped in a monastery with a bunch of freak cultists for the rest of your life would be hell.
>>528931685Monks are disturbed people, gay and pedos
>>528931955>>528932044I've stayed at a monastery before. They make you take a psychological evaluation before entering. I have OCD so I guarantee I would be rejected. They also have gift shops and are run as tourist attractions so unless you join a Carthusian monastery you're going to encounter normies every day.
>>528932226maybe you went to the wrong place. the ones i was at certainly had nothing like that. they were very simple places, although the younger monks were allowed a PS2 for their entertainment which i thought was funny. other than that it could have been any time within the last 1000 years.
>>528931955There would have to be more interesting conversation to be found elsewhere. I don't hate normies but I find them excruciatingly dull.
>>528932433The place I went didn't have a monk under 45. Unfortunately a lot of the monasteries I've seen are like retirement homes. They didn't even pray Terce and None at the place I went. Maybe things are different in other countries in terms of turning monasteries into tourist attractions.
>>528932589from what i can tell it really depends on what a particular place wants to do. ive been to one in the US (greek orthodox) thats situated near a scenic highway and runs a nice bakery to support itself. they've made a little park with some paths in the woods etc for people to enjoy. its a good way to make some money and do a bit of lowkey evangelism.other sstay more to themselves and reply on other means to survive. i guess some go for the whole tourist thing for revenue....did the one you went to have some nice historical buildings, grounds etc? i could see that being taken advantage of, at the cost of the place being busier.
