i've spent a large amount of time researching the franklin scandal and to be honest i am still not 100% sure what to make of it, especially paul bonacci. some of the claims he's made over the years read as utterly ridiculous and yet there are times where i cannot help but believe him, especially in regards to the johnny gosch stuff. it also does not help that all of the witnesses except one in the franklin scandal recanted/recanted their recantations/ were drug addicts and unreliable to begin with (i know this is by design but still) aquino is another figure that is very hard for me to pin down, on the one hand the presidio scandal he was implicated in is 100% believable to me considering multiple children tested positive for chlamydia/ and many more showed signs of abuse, victims being able to accurately describe the interior of his house and correctly identify which house was his when taken to the street, etc. he also seemed to be like the person who reveled in the attention and infamy the scandal brought him and became an almost larger than life figure.
