Same deal happened in desert storm and the state vs state portion of Iraq 2, weeks of the country being ripped apart by air action followed by a short and directed ground attack. Russia tried to combined arms that shit in the dumbest way possible, assuming that Ukraine would just fall apart on contact. Which did happen in the South due to corruption/bribes but didn't work in the rest of the country.
