During the 9th Party Congress of the Worker's Party of Korea, the North Koreans said the following:>We will fully prepare ourselves for the confrontation with the United States in the future, too, as now and firmly maintain the toughest stand as the keynote of our consistent policy towards the United States. However, as already clarified, if the United States respects the present position of our state specified in the Constitution of the DPRK and withdraws its hostile policy toward the DPRK [a nuclear state], there is no reason why we cannot get on well with the United States."The US has said that they have no prerequisites for a meeting, and South Korean intelligence has said there might be a meeting between the US and DPRK sometime soon, and seeing that Trump is visiting Beijing in late March, it could be then on the sidelines.
