The only reason other places don't mine rare earth is because you need to process so many tonnes of earth to get it that you end with entire fields of toxic waste, its cheaper both directly and indirectly to jsut let China destroy its own country mining it

Every country has all the "rare" earth it needs, they just aren't dumb enough to actually mine it themselves, beter to offload the ecological cost onto the chinks
