There's a reason that a rocket heading to space is essentially just a tiny bit at the tip, and the entire rest of it is giant engines and fuel tanks, because you need absolutely absurd amounts of energy to make something that big, go that fast. And unlike firing a bullet where it's small enough that you just impart energy via contained explosion and then inertia does the rest, if you wanted to fire something that big like a gun you'd need an explosion that itself is functionally a nuke. So you'd basically be spending way more energy just moving the projectile than you would actually deliver to the target, plus you're working against gravity, friction coefficient, square-cube law, etc.
