Now that the initial shock seems to be fading, Iran’s response appears significantly weaker than it was last June. This is despite the fact that this time senior members of its leadership were reportedly killed and the United States and Israel openly framed their actions as part of a broader regime-change effort — effectively a declaration of war.So far, there have been no major retaliatory escalations: no aircraft carriers sunk, no large-scale missile barrages on Tel Aviv, and none of the attacking aircraft appear to have been shot down. All of Irans proxies, Hamas, Hiszbollah, Houthis are effectively destroyed.Given all this, one central question remains:Was the operation sufficient to meaningfully destabilize or even force regime change?Iran still has a large security apparatus and substantial manpower capable of maintaining internal order. Meanwhile, opposition protests do not appear highly coordinated or unified, except the couple Mossad agents that mowed down police and civilians alike. This raises a broader strategic question:Is it realistically possible to bring about regime change in a country of roughly 90 million people through an air campaign alone?If so, what will Israels next step be now that all of their enemies have been eliminated? Nobody can stop them now. Will we see Israel rise to a super power?

Trump's goal was to weaken the central government enough to hand nation on a platter to the revolutionaries. Only reason he took action is cause of the revolts. What happens next really depends on the Iranian people. There won't be US boots on the ground as a war was never Trump's aim. As far as the US goes, Iran will be old news in roughly two weeks despite the left's best efforts to spin this against Trump.
