If our government was smart we'd be withdrawing from space treaties like the Partial Nuclear Test Treaty and the Space Treaty of 1967 left and fucking right. And actually begin laying the ground work to exploit space, lay and enforce claims, and re-explore and modernized things like Project Orion to make it possible.It's pretty fucking clear that there's going to be seethe and cope regardless. Imagine the day world leaders frantically phoning each other while screaming at each other and their staff as they find out America is bringing back something like 16 Psyche into one of Earth Lagrange points—crashing entire sectors of a country's economy, if not entire economies outright like Australia or Chile.
