I guess we didn’t get him the antivirals quickly enough and his heart just stopped beating one morning. Unfortunately it was very sudden, we thought he’d recover normally. I wasn’t at home at the time so I didn’t get a proper chance to say goodbye. Still kills me inside that I wasn’t there.

The whole "at least it was in your arm and loved in the end" thing is fake, my kot was the cuddliest little bean ever, would spoon me anytime I layed down... in the last few days she would constantly run away. They push you away in the last moments, reflexively, and it fucking hurts like hell. It just fucking sucks. There's no way to redeem any part of it, you need time to do its thing. Took me a few months and the house was too quiet, eventually I got another. It gets easier.
