Iran is not set up like a regular country.There is a mafia which have final say over all candidates, all military decisions, all legal decisions, etc. It is quite literally a mafia too where various ayatollahs and mullahs are made men that control everything and capos are assigned to rule over areas of Iran and kick up a tax to the main mafia boss. This mafia has the revolutionary guard which is basically the Praetorian guard which is basically mafia associates or sicarios in cartel terms. Their job is to threaten everyone into following the orders of the mullahs. The military is a totally seperate branch, but they take orders from the republican guard which I assure you probably doesn't go over well when an established general has to listen to some arrogant nephew of an Ayatollah barking threats at him.Because of this setup all you have to do is whack those IRGC assholes and the mullahs have no more leverage over the country. A simple coup can happen once enough of them are dead. Then the generals control the country and these clerics can go the fuck back to their mosques and make decisions over wedding arrangements
