So basically it good for one thing, air superiority in contested airspace. If it isn't contested airspace, F-16 or F-15 is better plane for the task because of operational costs. If you need to drop bombs, F-35 is far superior plane because it can carry meaningful air to ground payload.

The only effective use of the F35 to date is launching JASM at stationary targets by outranging outdated S-300 radar systems in the middle east. It's used by Israel and in the case of the war against Iran, it's just too far away. Good waste of a trillion dollars plus dollars MIC developing a fighter/bomber that will be totally useless by the time war break out in the pacific due to China's anti carrier destroyers.

The best thing to come out of F-22 is small diameter bomb. It was originally designed so that USAF could pretend F-22 can carry more than two bombs and pretend that it is multirole aircraft. F-22 can carry 8 SDB's, but small diameter bomb is small and can in practice only be used against small and thus low value targets.
