In cities like Detroit where there is actually a deaignated skid row with blocks of tents, homeless people are mostly just really poor, often old and abandoned by their kids or people who don't make enough for rent. In California where programs for the homeless abound, including a shelter-to-affordable-housing program that gets you a job, it also depends, but right off the bat any homeless person who isn't a drug addict is pretty solid and generally honest

Homeless people are homeless for a reason. They burnt through all their bridges. They let vices, be that alcohol, gambling or drugs or some combination of that get the better of them.In the mind of the leftist, every homeless person is simply "down in their luck" and a victim of circumstance. Which completely ignores the bridge burning that happened.Lastly, if the person wasn't mentally ill already, being homeless and in that constant state of never being able to relax properly, being isolated and feeling rejected by society and looked down on, it will cause severe mental illness and the longer it goes on, the worse it gets. I haven't met a billionaire, but I have met individuals with a net worth in the tens of millions. They aren't ranting maniacally. They aren't mentally ill to the point where your cortisol levels immediately rise because they're on edge and you don't know what they're going to do or say next. They also don't smell really bad or demand you give them money.
