I would like to remind that it was the USA and West who overthrew the Shah. He was their puppet but in the 70s he got off his leash. He participated in the oil crisis. And in 1979 his deal with western oil companies where they got 50% of the profits from Iranian oil was about to expire. And he wasn't going to renew that deal and instead was going to nationalize the oil. This just happened the year he got overthrown.It's very clear that the west overthrew the Shah and installed the Ayatollah thinking he would be their puppet. They were gravely mistaken.
