The patriot problem has been known since 1991; they didn't bother to fix it.
>>
When do the missiles start hitting Israel?
>>
>>530019866
Why do you think there is almost no news about Israel? Tel Aviv is getting smashed.
>>
>>530019866
seen any BBC thread lately?
>>
>>530019704
Do they only have problems with the shaheds?
>>
>>530019704
Oh no! The American arsenal finally ran out. Surely congress won't print money and buy more!!!
>>
Patriot missiles had like a 10% success rate against Iraqi scuds in the 90's. They were never anything but a taxpayer boondoggle to keep Raytheon and Lockheed in business.

>No news means my TKD is totally hapoooning omg guise
Weak cope

Did you psychically view this, or do you have some source that is claiming that?

Random faggot on Twitter makes post linking himself
Random faggot on /pol/ links random faggot on Twitter's post.
SM-3 is what we're going to be using to turn China's BeiDou satellite constellation into debris
>>
>>530019704
He isn't totally wrong. THAAD and Patriot missiles are very outdated shit at this point.
We should develop new versions. These systems can be easily overwhelmed, cheaper options (like lasers) can take over.
>>
>>530020261
They weren't designed for scuds. Scuds are the Oldsmobile landbarge of the ballistic world and were too big for these interceptors. American MIC is still trash thobeit. Tkd
>>
>>530020251
You can't print production lines, dofus.

... this is the literal dumbest geopolitics guy on twitter, shoe size IQ

Why would they? That's money that could go into israel's pocket.

They reopened schools two days ago and people are back to work and not giving a fuck now. Consider less mudslime copium in your life.

Patriot is supposed to be an anti-aircraft weapon. The anti-missile role was added later.
>>
>>530020288
Why do they put people in jail for filming videos?
>>
>>530020363
cause nigga they'd be dancing in the streets if they were fine. they love dancing
>>
>>530020261
They're SAM's meant for shooting down manned enemy aircraft. What we should have done is start developing dedicated anti-drone and anti-missile platforms a decade ago, rather than retrofitting our old shit to (poorly, expensively) function in these roles
>>
>>530020363
Gaza activists have contacts that are getting video through

It's the War Department and not the Defense Department after all. Maybe this would change if the bankers in New York were threatened?

They are a necessary evil if you are in NATO.We had s300s for years which we were pressured to never deploy/demonstrate etc. When our PM came close with putin in 2007 and agreed to the procurement of s400 AND the construction of an oil pipeline from Alexandroupolis( btw the port right now is flooded with US troops/vehicles) to Rostov, we had a mini maidan. In a span of two months the whole country experienced record amount of wildfires and mass "organic" protests in every city because an innocent antifa youth died from a cop who somehow managed to kill him after his bullet ricocheted 5 times in a 15ft wide road.

The government fell,IMF came, the whole pay denbts saga began and we(every subsequent government)have been staunchly anti russian ever since.
>>
>>530019704
>they didn't bother to fix it.
THAAD fixed it so MIC fixed it by making it even more espensive and less numerous and Iranians fixing it by changint it into THUUD.
>Patriot is a glorified AA
>>
>>530019704
They had been too busy replacing whites with spics
>>
>>530020159
Lmao, I saw one yesterday and then that was it. Lots of Englin AFB tards around though.

We use lasers now bruh
>>
>>530019704
there doesnt exist an anti missile system that actually does what they supposedly do. fucking flak cannons with a 1970s tier tracking computer would do a better job but that wouldnt come with a high price tag
>>
>>530020582
You realise , there's video all over Twitter of bombed out Israeli infrastructure, right?
>>
>>530020251
>print money and buy more
...from china, india, korea, vietnam?
>>
>>530021137
What about barrage balloons floating over a city packed with small air to air missiles and radars? That way you’re not fighting against gravity you just wait until the missile goes by then you pop it with a sidewinder or AMRAM or whatever they use these days for air to air missiles.
>>
>>530020657
because the dancing israelis were released
>>
>>530019704
Nothing you read about the efficacy of US weapons platforms is accurate. It is all propaganda from one side or the other. Actual capabilities are intentionally obfuscated.
>>
>>530020390
Lasers cannot do the same job as THAAD because THAAD happens above the atmosphere.
The point is to destroy the warhead before re-entry so it breaks up and nothing big falls on the original target area.
Patriots seem to suck dick so yeah they could be replaced, but you aren't making a laser that can vaporize a ballistic missile. It's not ever going to happen. The air would ionize and block the laser before you got enough energy density on the missile.
Lasers should be good for very small rockets / mortars / artillery (small ones) and small and slow drones and slow aircraft. It has limited range, only a few km.
>>
>>530019704
>they didn't bother to fix it.
The PAC-3 works a lot better than the ones in the desert storm and we could improve THAAD if we wanted to.

lol i found it, the last anti iranian war spammer still trying to spam pol. didnt you get the message on discord? the spamming isnt working so they called it off
>>
>>530023044
Yes I actually remember a Future weapons episode with that ex navy seal dude from back when these things were new about it. But space borne lasers exist. That could replace THAAD, maybe not completely, but THAAD could be rendered a supplemental defense layer for more "localized" defense where space borne lasers could take the bulk of it.
If that makes sense, am drunk
>>
>>530020288
You are probably too young to remember, but kike owned media has been proudly showing propaganda of successful patriot interceptions to prove the invincibility of america and its allies since the gulf war. Now suddenly it is crickets
>>
>S-300 and S-400 are often failing
>Patriot and THAAD are the same
I guess intercepting missiles must be hard or something
>>
lol why are all of the replies in this thread perfectly capitalized, punctuated, and with correct apostrophes ect? or tastefully incorrect, such as to bait correction engagement?
>>
>>530019704
Not even the Arrow 3 is worth it since ballistics can release decoys in space.
>>
>>530020261
They had a memory leak in the program that caused the system to lag when left on after a day, like most air bases did.
>>
>>530023344
Space borne lasers wouldn't replace THAAD either and here's why:
They would need to be in orbit all the time (otherwise they aren't space borne and you're talking about something else).
The Earth is gigantically huge, so you would need so many in orbit, hundreds of thousands, to ensure that one would be close enough to a ballistic missile as it's going up, in order to hit it at a close enough range that the laser hasn't spread out too much to become ineffective.
Such a laser satellite almost certainly wouldn't be heading in the same general direction as the ballistic missile, so it would have only seconds to shoot it as it zips by at most likely thousands of miles per hour relative velocity, up to tens of thousands.
It's just not practical or realistic at all.
THAAD is not a bad idea it's just too expensive and they don't make enough of them, and it probably loses effectiveness if the enemy starts popping out mylar balloons from the main missile while in the space part of the ballistic missile trajectory.
>>
>>530020092
lmao show proof?
>there is none
Tel Aviv is just fine.
>>
>>530023818
Oh yeah also laser satellites wouldn't work against multiple ballistic missiles at the same time, because the laser satellites would be too spread out and there's no way to move satellites into different orbits quickly enough to respond to a launch.
>>
>short war
lol
lmao
>>
>>530019704
Yeah its funny how this issue comes back every single time.
>>
>>530021341

and there's news all over 4chan that you are a faggot

Jeet coded missile launchers
