That said, what about mounting S-8 (or S-5) rockets in plastic tubes in a linear row rather than the regular circular launcher. I bet you can fit and mount at least 4 of these. Since they fly low and slow you probably dont need a dedicated aiming system, just a speed / height calculation to give a targeting queue. Since it would be possible to take out multiple targets you can even start hunting trucks to really strangle logistics.

It is very, very hard to hide the fact that you are jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft, especially if the defenders have radar. My guess is that the Israelis were rushing in to back up their paras with their Merkavas, ran into landmines and ATGMs (IIRC they were a beast the last time the IDF tried invading Lebanon). Tanks got wiped out, paratroopers got no support, then got wiped out in turn.
